Do's and don't

Postby robnurse on Mon Aug 03, 2009 1:58 pm

Here we have a guide to what to do and what not to do with a 7Kart, and will be constantly updated.

1. Always lubricate the sleeves on all models, as this makes the chassis work better, and stops the main chassis rail from corroding, under the sleeves.

2. Never MIG or TIG weld any of the chassis rails, as the tubes are chrome moly, and if subjected to very fast heating and cooling, will cause to material to become hardened, and will lead to the tube cracking. This will result in the crack tube having to be removed and replaced.

John

The best way to lube the sleeves on a Mk2 is to stand the chassis on its end and keep applying some form of light machine oil, or wd40 over a period of time and allow it to run through.

It is not possible to upgrade a Mk2 with the grease nipples and there is a chance that the main chassis rail will become damaged in process of drilling the holes.

Hope this helps

Hi Rob,
Just another important one, what about over tightening engine mounts?
